WHAT OUR PATIENTS SAY

MONOFOCAL IOL

These are the standard intraocular lenses and can correct vision according to one focusing distance - nearsightedness, far and immediate. We offer a wide range of brands of IOLs for patients to choose from.

MULTIFOCAL IOL

Multifocial IOL can correct multiple errors in the eye. It allows a more clear vision compared to monofocal IOL. Visual activity is comparable to Monofocal IOL for distant vision. Spectacles for near vision are not needed.

TORIC LENSES

Toric lenses are the premium intraocular lenses that can reduce corneal astigmatism and blurry vision. It can help correct a range of diopters of astigmatism and is the most preferred type of lenses.

FAQ ABOUT CATARACT SURGERY IN GURGAON

Age is a primary reason for cataract. About half the population by the age of 60 has cataract while around 80 per cent people have cataract in at least one eye by the age of 70 years. With age protein of the lens turns opaque. In the initial stage the lens bends light rays irregularly, which requires prescription glasses of higher number to correct it. Metabolic disorders like diabetes and hypothyroidism predisposes the patient to cataract. Excessive exposure to sunlight too is believed to cause cataract. Similarly air pollution too is believed to be responsible for cataract. Lifestyle concerns like heavy alcohol consumption and smoking too contribute to the development of cataract. Injury to eye can also lead to clouding of the lens of the eye.
Cataract can make simple day to day living difficult. The symptoms are : progressive nearsightedness in older people problems driving at night such as glare from oncoming headlights, problems with glare during the day, double vision (like a superimposed image) and sudden changes in glasses prescription.
When cataract forms, surgery is the only way to treat it. In cataract surgery the surgeon removes the clouded lens and puts an Intra Ocular Lens (IOL) in your eyes. Your vision will be as good as pre-cataract days, though you may need to wear glasses depending upon the intraocular lens used. Over the years, cataract surgery has moved from vision restorative to refractive surgery, so that you have reduced need of glasses. At Spectraeye, we have best cataract surgeon in Gurgaon.
  • Micro Incision Cataract Surgery (MICS)
  • Femtosecond Laser Assisted Cataract Surgery
Femtosecond laser assisted cataract surgery a leap ahead of the traditional cataract surgery (MICS) in Gurgaon. It has converted cataract surgery, a manual multi-step, multi-tool procedure to one with laser created, surgeon controlled precision.
  • It is 100 per cent blade free, hence safer surgery.
  • Surgical process takes less than 1 minute.
  • Femtosecond laser allows computerized programming of corneal incisions. The precisely structured incisions are self-sealing that minimize the risk of post-operative infections.
  • Enhanced visual outcome resulting from consistent circular laser-created capsulorrhexis and better centering of the intraocular lens (IOL) leading to improved surgical results.
  • The use of femtosecond laser for fragmentation of the cataract in smaller, softer pieces allows for the removal of cataract through reduced phaco time and power. This is especially useful in complicated cases and compromised corneas.
  • Quicker post procedure recovery
This is the most common surgical technique used for cataract surgery these days. Over the years, the size of corneal incision made during cataract surgery has considerably reduced leading to improved visual outcome and quicker post procedure recovery. In MICS, a very small incision of about 2 mm is given by which cataract lens is emulsified into small pieces (by an ultrasonic probe) and a foldable IOL is implanted. Hence, it is stitchless, bloodless and painless surgery.
After cataract operation, expect your vision to begin improving within a few days. Your vision may be blurry at first as your eye heals and adjusts. Colors may seem brighter after your surgery because you are looking through a new, clear lens. A cataract is usually yellow- or brown-tinted before surgery, muting the look of colors
You should be able to return to work within 1-2 weeks after surgery. If you work from home and simply use a computer you can resume work as soon as you feel comfortable to do so.
